Lilian Lousky is a diamond lady and a half. She’s the owner of renowned Hatton Garden jewellers Tresor Paris and is not only passionate about all things sparkly, she wants to make them affordable for everyone, not only her high-end clients.
I interviewed Lilian last year, for a piece about how to choose the perfect diamond, and was blown away by her style and knowledge – I don’t think there’s a thing about gems and precious metals she doesn’t know. So when I heard Tresor Paris had a new range out, I knew it would be a good one.
Tresor Paris Phiish is a collection of aquatic-themed (the name kinda gives it away) charm bracelets and necklaces inspired by the water and healing properties of the sea. Each piece can be customised to suit your outfit or style – the charms are a range of beautiful natural gemstones that fit into a unique fish-shaped feature.
The necklaces and bracelets themselves come in stainless steel, yellow gold and rose gold and together with the different colour stones allow you to mix and match to your heart’s content.
What I like most about them – strange as it seems – is the fastener. It’s been styled to look like a fish’s tail so it’s as much an adornment as the charm itself and adds to the appeal.
Also, Lilian’s designed a moveable stopper that lets you adjust the length of the chain, which is great for those of us with smaller wrists (how many times have I had to get a bracelet adjusted?) while also allowing you to fasten the bracelet without having to resort to yoga twists and turns clamping one end in your mouth.
The Phiiish bracelet or necklace comes with one, three or six fish charms or you can buy it alone and choose your own (mine is empty for now. I kinda like the simplicity). It would make an ideal Christmas gift and one you can keep adding too – simply buy different charms to give your recipient as much choice as they want.
There are also a selection of beaded bracelets for the boho-chic person in your life.
What counts most is you’re getting all the quality that Tresor Paris represents. What I was struck by with Lilian was how she puts as much heart and soul into her lower-end range as the top items (which include rings costing £250,000).
Speaking last year, she told me: “If you’re buying just the one piece, make sure it matches a lot of outfits. You want it to be something you’re comfortable wearing and a look that you’re happy to be seen in a lot… I advise people to go for something they’re not going to get fed up with quickly.”
With so many Phiish in the sea available (sorry), that won’t happen for a long time.
