So there I was, in my lunch break watching the Menopause Debate at Parliament, when suddenly I hear my name! And there was Nickie Aiken MP showing the Pausitivity KnowYourMenopause poster in the main chamber. Our poster on display in the very place where history takes place.
I screamed so loud the whole office heard my excitement!
It got better, too, when Alex Davies Jones also commended us! (See how in I am now – I know all the lingo!)
But as incredible as this was, it was nothing compared to the positivity in the chamber for change and the acknowledgement that menopause needs to be better understood and menopausal women need help and support. For that, we have the wonderful Carolyn Harris to thank, for her incredible campaigning and sheer bloody-mindedness to make a difference.
But the main debate happens this Friday, when the Menopause (Support and Services) Bill gets debated. This is when real change can happen.
If you’re in or around London this Friday, please come and join us at the rally in Parliament Square, too. Full details are: October 29th at 12.30am. I’ll be there and this is why…
And if you can’t be there, please write to your MP telling them how important it is and ask them to support Carolyn. Full details of how to do that are here.
It’s time for everyone to #KnowYourMenopause.
